Get your product featured in an Ask Doctor Jo video!

Hi, I'm Doctor Jo, a licensed Physical Therapist and Doctor of Physical Therapy. I hope you enjoy my video demos of stretches & exercises for common injuries and syndromes. If you have a question, just ask. Be safe. Have fun. And I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks for your interest in having your product appear in a video on the Ask Doctor Jo YouTube channel, website, and social media channels including Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Reddit, and Tumblr. I have three different ways I can incorporate a product. These levels and the fee involved for each are described below.

And please check out the Frequently Asked Questions at the bottom of this page for more details about getting your product featured.

If you'd like to move forward with featuring your product in an Ask Doctor Jo video, please contact us and let us know which level you are interested in purchasing.

PRODUCT PLACEMENT - $375 - Your product will be used in a segment of one of my regular stretching and exercise videos. In a product placement video, I do not explain or talk about the product in any way. I’ll mention I’m using your product and direct viewers to a YouTube “card” if they’d like to purchase it. Then again at the end of the video, I’ll hold up your product and direct viewers to a YouTube “end screen” graphic where they can purchase your product.

An example of a product placement can be found in the video below at about the 2:43 mark.

PRODUCT MENTION - $750 - Your product will be talked about and used in a segment of one of my regular stretching and exercise videos. I’ll mention I’m using your product, highlight a few of the product’s features that I feel make it especially useful or unique (this section will last approximately one minute), and then I’ll use it during one stretch or exercise. During the stretch or exercise, one YouTube “card” will be displayed inviting viewers to purchase the product. At the end of the exercise, I’ll direct viewers to another YouTube “card” to purchase the product. Finally, at the end of the video, I’ll hold up the product again and direct viewers to a YouTube “end screen” graphic where they can purchase your product.

An example of a product mention can be found in the video below at about the 4:09 mark.

PRODUCT REVIEW - $1,500 - Your product will be showcased exclusively in its own video. The length of the video will be approximately 5-7 minutes depending on the product. Throughout the video, I’ll talk about the product, what it’s used for, what I like about it, and what makes it special or unique. I will demonstrate how to use the product in an exercise and/or stretch that is appropriate for the product. Throughout the video, three YouTube “cards” will be displayed inviting viewers to purchase the product. Finally, at the end of the video, I’ll direct viewers to a YouTube “end screen” graphic where they can purchase your product.

Here's an example of a product review.

Still have questions? Here are some FAQs.

Can I get a discount?
Yes. We offer a 25% off discount for 3 or more videos (of any level) purchased at the same time.
Can I download the video (or parts of it) and re-upload it to my own YouTube channel, website, or social media page?
No. This practice can cause penalties by YouTube and other social media channels resulting in little or no traffic for either of the videos. You are, however, encouraged to link to or share the original video on social media or embed the video on your website using the “embed” code provided on the original video by YouTube. If you have questions about how to do this, please ask us.
Can I tell you what to say about the product?
No. The product videos consist of Doctor Jo’s honest opinions after using the product, and she’ll highlight things she thinks will be of interest or use to our viewers. As a result, she will not read from a script, outline, or speaking points. If there are things you want her to consider mentioning, please bring those to our attention BEFORE the video is shot. If Doctor Jo agrees with what you want to cover, she’ll be happy to include it in the video if time permits.
Where do I send the product and/or payment?
These will both be listed in the Product Agreement you will need to sign before moving forward.
Will you put a link to purchase the product in the video’s description and/or on your website?
Yes. This can be a link to the product on Amazon or a link to the product’s sales page on your website. NOTE: If your product is available for sale on Amazon, we strongly suggest sending viewers there to purchase. Our viewers are more likely to purchase a product from Amazon than from a thrird-party website they are not familiar with.
Do you have any demographic data for your YouTube channel?
Yes. Here is some general demographic data based on the "watch time" for my YouTube channel:
Location: US (45%), India (12%), UK (7.5%), Canada (6%), Australia (3.1%), Other (26.4%). Gender: Male (51%), Female (49%) Age Ranges: 25-24 (24%), 35-44 (20%), 45-54 (17%), 55-64 (15%), 65+ (11%), 18-24 (11%), 13-17 (1.2%)
Will you put a link to my website in the video’s description or on your website?
No… and yes. We will only link to your website if that’s where you want us to direct viewers to purchase the product. In that case, the link must go directly to the product’s description/sales page. Again, if your product is available for sale on Amazon, we strongly suggest sending viewers there instead. In our experience, links to Amazon almost always result in more sales than a link to the product’s website.
Can I provide a product discount or do a product giveaway for your viewers?
Absolutely! We always recommend our partners offer a discount to our viewers. Even a discount of 10% can improve potential sales. We usually don’t recommend a giveaway, however, because that can cause people to not purchase the product since they are hoping they’ll win the giveaway. If you decide to do a giveaway, you will be responsible for shipping the prize to the winner. NOTE: Doctor Jo will not mention a discount or giveaway in the video to avoid dating the video once the promotion has ended. Instead, information about the discount and/or giveaway will be listed in the video's description.
How long does it take to make a product video?
We shoot videos about once a month, so depending on when you contact us, it could take anywhere from 3 weeks to 8 weeks before you get a link to the video for approval. We’ll be happy to give you an estimate once you decide to work with us.
Can I pick the date my video will launch?
Yes… kind of. The best days for video releases on our channel are Mondays and Wednesdays, so we always recommend one of those. We also only release one video on those days, so the date you want may already be taken. Once you decide to work with us, we can talk more about releasing the video on a specific date if you have one in mind.
Can you feature more than one of my products in a video?
Unless the product is sold as a set, we’ll only feature one product per video. If the product is sold as a set, we will mention it comes with other items, but only the main product will be featured prominently.
Will other products be featured in my product’s video?
No. We only allow one paid product to be featured in a video. Doctor Jo may use other products in the video while performing a specific stretch or exercise, but the product will not be a competing product, and it will not be mentioned by a brand name or have callouts to purchase that product.
How many product sales can I expect?
It’s impossible for us to answer this question since it depends on many factors including the price of the product, the perceived value, the popularity of the topic the product relates to, whether or not you help us promote the video, etc. Some of our product videos are still generating multiple sales every week (more than a year after they were launched), while others have only sold a few products. Most product videos fall somewhere in between.
How many views will the video get?
Again, this is a question we can’t really answer due to all the reasons we listed in the previous answer. Our most successful product video has received more than 700,000 views, while others have only gotten a few thousand views. Most product videos fall somewhere in between.
Can my product be in the crowdfunding stage?
No. We will not consider products that are in the crowdfunding stage.
Once the video launches, can you tell me how many products were sold because of the video?
If your product is sold on Amazon, we will create an Amazon Associates Link to the product for our viewers. This will allow us to track how many products are sold as a result of that link. We are happy to provide this information upon request. Keep in mind, our Amazon Associates Link will not track sales from people who don’t click the link or who buy the product somewhere else. Tracking sales is another good reason to offer our viewers a discount since you will be able to track sales that way.
