Want to improve your posture? Here are some simple things you can do. Having bad posture can cause pain in your neck, shoulders, back, and our whole body.
First is a chin tuck. This is a great way to not only strengthen your neck muscles, but also correct your posture. Second is a scapular or shoulder squeeze. This helps strengthen the thoracic muscles and help prevent your shoulders from rolling forward.
Another way to improve posture is by using a posture correcting brace like the one I feature in this video. They are designed to retrain the muscles and help prevent fatigue, but they should not be used long term. The brace is fully adjustable and comfortable as well.
The fourth method is a row. Using a resistive band will help strengthen the thoracic muscles even more when you are ready. Finally a chest or pectoralis stretch is a great way to open up your chest and help prevent your shoulders from rolling forward.
Exercise Snacks are short bursts of activity that can provide great health benefits. It can be as little as 30 seconds, and up to five or 10 minutes. It can be any type of movement like climbing stairs, walking, doing squats, wall pushups, or modified jumping jacks.
Groin pain can come from many things, so it’s important to get a proper diagnosis. Groin pain can be from an adductor strain, labral tear, hip impingement, hip arthritis, or a sports hernia. These simple stretches and exercises should help relieve the pain.
Bell’s Palsy is the sudden weakness of your facial muscles on one half of the face. These exercises may seem like you are just making funny faces, but this will help get the weak muscles working again.
Tension headaches can cause a lot of pain. Stress is a common cause of tension headaches. Relaxing the muscles around the neck and shoulder area can help decrease the pain caused by tension headaches.
Doctor Jo shows you three simple chest stretches to get your muscles loosened up if you have tight chest muscles or sore pectorals (pectoralis) from a workout.
Fibromyalgia and other chronic pain conditions can cause pain all over the body. This is often called widespread pain. The key to finding relief with stretches and exercises with these types of conditions is to find the right amount of intensity for you. Lying down while performing simple stretches and exercises often helps.
Tinnitus is a ringing in your ears. For some people, this simple technique may stop tinnitus immediately giving you instant relief. Tinnitus can also be another noise like buzzing, roaring, hissing, etc.
When the pectoralis (pec) muscles are strained, overused, or even tightened due to bad posture, it can cause chest pain and tightness. These easy chest pain relief techniques should help, but it’s always important to check in with your doctor if you are having chest pain to rule out any serious conditions.
TENS units & EMS units can be very helpful when recovering from an injury or surgery. The two are very different, but often come together in one unit like the iStim EV-805 unit I use in this video.
