Buy the cervical tinnitus worksheetTinnitus is often referred to as “ringing in the ears,” but it can include sounds of buzzing, hissing, whistling, swooshing, and clicking. Tinnitus can be a symptom from many different things. One of these can be from tight muscles in the neck, jaw, and/or shoulder area. These stretches may help relieve cervical tinnitus.

The muscles around the jaw area can cause pressure around the ear. Massaging this area can help loosen up the muscles reducing tightness that might cause symptoms.

Upper trapezius, levator scapulae, and scalenes/sternocleidomastoid (SCM) stretches all do a great job of helping to lengthen and relax the muscles around the neck and ear.

Finally chin tucks not only help loosen up the muscles in the neck area, but they also help reset the muscles that are often overstretched from bad posture.

Relieve Neck & Shoulder Pain
Neck & shoulder pain often go hand in hand. Many of the muscles in the neck go down into the shoulder area, and when they are tight and weak, they can cause pain in both areas.
Neck Flexors
The neck flexor muscles are a set of deep muscles in the front of your neck that help keep your neck in a neutral position, and they also help with posture. Neck Flexors often become overused and weak due to long term phone and computer use. This causes forward neck posture which can cause pain, headaches, and sometimes even dizziness. These neck flexor stretches and exercises should help.
Neck Movement Pain
Sometimes neck pain happens with even the slightest movement. This often happens with a neck trauma like whiplash or a sport's injury. With any neck trauma, it's important to get checked out by your Healthcare Provider first. Once you're cleared for movement, these stretches and exercises may help.
