The term Exercise Snacks is thought to have been first used in 2007 by cardiologist Dr. Howard Hartley, who was then associate professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School. There have been many studies since then to show the value of these mini workouts.

Some of the research on Exercise Snacks shows these brief activities improve cardiorespiratory fitness and can reduce cancer risk by up to 32%. Even small amounts of daily moderate activity can significantly decrease dementia risk, according to one study. Since these don’t take up much time, they can be done several times a day with great benefits.
